Topic: Guidelines for self-disclosure in therapy
Abstract: Recent trends in research on counseling success have focused on two big subjects. The first is common factors such client willingness and the client-therapist relationship. The second in the use of self and/or self-disclosure in therapy. In this lunch and learn Ken Gross, LPC will present 10 guidelines on the use of self in counseling.
About the presenter: Ken has lived in Katy since 1991, before that he lived in Saudi Arabia and England where he was born and raised. He is the Recovery Pastor and an Elder at The Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Katy, Texas. He and his wife of 31 years have 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ken has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Physics from the University of London, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology. He currently works as a Pastoral Counselor.
In addition to his counseling work, Ken serves as the founding director of Merimnao and is an LPC serving the Katy and West Houston area.
