JODIE BERGQUIST, Board Member

Jodie and her family moved to Katy, Texas in 2004 from Tennesee where she was born and raised. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and currently sees clients in her private practice located in Katy, Texas. Jodie and her family are members and serve regularly at Current- A Christian Church. Jodie and her husband Mark have 3 children and a house full of crazy fun loving pets. Jodie and Mark homeschool 2 of their children and their oldest is currently in college. Every day is an adventure.

Jodie has an Associates degree in Science from Walters State Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Behavioral Science from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology. Jodie studied Theology at Nazarene Bible College then became ordained as an elder in the Nazarene Denomination where she served as a district children’s leader, children and youth pastor before pursuing her Counseling Career. Before going into private practice, Jodie worked as a licensed psychotherapist for Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center.

Jodie’s calling is to walk alongside her clients showing them unconditional love and encouragement as each of them redefine life with new meaning and purpose.

SUZANNE ESPINOZA, Board Member

Suzanne and her family have lived in Katy, Texas since 1990. Before that, she attended college in northern California graduating from California State University-Chico. Suzanne began her career as a nutritionist for an area W.I.C. program in California. When moving to Houston she found the YMCA and found her love for community programming, as well as health and fitness. For more than 30 years Suzanne has been involved with nutrition, health and fitness education. This love to educate others on healthy lifestyles lead her to now own and lead Transformation Enzyme Corporation, a faith-based progressive and growing company in holistic integrative healthcare industry. Suzanne founded Trans4Wisdom, a non-profit education platform providing holistic and integrative practitioner a speaking opportunity to educate the public on their healthcare options.

Suzanne was chosen 2010/2011 Women of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women, Presidential Who’s Who 2011 and National Register’s Who’s Who in 2012. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Westchase Chamber of Commerce and has been a sponsor for Women Driving Business and other various youth charitable events. Suzanne recently received The Global Health & Pharma Alternative Medicine & Holistic Health Award for best quality enzyme nutrition supplements and education in the USA.

Suzanne’s life journey has led her to serve as a facilitator for Merimnao’s Grief Support Group and believes people can come to know Jesus Christ through the grieving process.

KEN GROSS, Founding Director & Board Member

Ken has lived in Katy since 1991, before that he lived in Saudi Arabia and England where he was born and raised.  He is the Recovery Pastor and an Elder at The Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Katy, Texas.  He and his wife of 31 years have 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Ken has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Physics from the University of London, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology.  He currently works as a Pastoral Counselor.

In addition to his counseling work, Ken serves as the founding director of Merimnao.

GIL HARRIS, Board Member

Gil and his family and moved to Katy, Texas from Mobile, Alabama in June of 1997. At that time they opened Katy Auto Care, an automotive repair and service center, where Gil is still the current owner and manager. Gil and his wife have been members of Kingsland Baptist Church for 20 years, where he is actively involved in men’s ministry.

Gil says “It has been my privilege to serve on the board of Merimnao for almost 4 years.” Gil’s specific interest and involvement are working with men and couples. His passion and desires are to see men grow in their relationship with Christ by experiencing the liberty and freedom the gospel of Jesus Christ has to offer. Gil has also been involved in facilitating couples intimacy group, where he sees marriages mature and develop into what we believe God has designed marriage to be.

ANDREA ROGERS, Board Member

Andrea Rogers is a board-certified life coach, speaker, and the executive director and founder of Modesty Rocks. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Masters in Leadership Training and Development, and lots of real world experience walking alongside people in everyday life. Andrea discovered the power of support groups when she needed help healing from infidelity in her marriage. She has seen first hand the power in community and coming alongside the broken-hearted. Andrea is trained by APSATS to work with other women healing from the trauma of intimate betrayal.

Andrea is a proud single mom to four beautiful children who she has has the honor of homeschooling for the last 7 years. When she is not teaching, Andrea runs her business, Fully Alive Coaching, and her non-profit Modesty Rocks. She is passionate about living life to the fullest. She spends her free time with family and trying to find ways to get to her happy place, the beach in Destin, FL.

JACLYN TOWNSEND, Executive Director & Board Member

Jaclyn was named the Executive Director of Merimnao Healing Ministries in July 2017 where she previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors for two years. Jaclyn is grateful for the opportunity to serve the very community that helped her.

Jaclyn has spent most her career developing and managing corporate marketing and communication initiatives for diverse multi-national companies. Because of her own journey through recovery, Jaclyn is passionate about helping others work through their brokenness and works with several other recovery organizations in and around the greater Houston area.

Jaclyn has a B.S in Marketing from the University of Houston and lives in Fort Bend County, where she grew up, with her husband and two sons.
