Board of Directors


Jodie and her family moved to Katy, Texas in 2004 from Tennesee where she was born and raised. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and currently sees clients in her private practice located in Katy, Texas. Jodie and her family are members and serve regularly at Current- A Christian Church. Jodie and her husband Mark have 3 children and a house full of crazy fun loving pets. Jodie and Mark homeschool 2 of their children and their oldest is currently in college. Every day is an adventure.

Jodie has an Associates degree in Science from Walters State Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Behavioral Science from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology. Jodie studied Theology at Nazarene Bible College then became ordained as an elder in the Nazarene Denomination where she served as a district children’s leader, children and youth pastor before pursuing her Counseling Career. Before going into private practice, Jodie worked as a licensed psychotherapist for Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center.

Jodie’s calling is to walk alongside her clients showing them unconditional love and encouragement as each of them redefine life with new meaning and purpose.

KEN GROSS, Founding Director & Board Member

Ken has lived in Katy since 1991, before that he lived in Saudi Arabia and England where he was born and raised.  He is the Recovery Pastor and an Elder at The Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Katy, Texas.  He and his wife of 31 years have 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Ken has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Physics from the University of London, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology.  He currently works as a Pastoral Counselor.

In addition to his counseling work, Ken serves as the founding director of Merimnao.

GIL HARRIS, Board Member

Gil and his family and moved to Katy, Texas from Mobile, Alabama in June of 1997. At that time they opened Katy Auto Care, an automotive repair and service center, where Gil is still the current owner and manager. Gil and his wife have been members of Kingsland Baptist Church for 20 years, where he is actively involved in men’s ministry.

Gil says “It has been my privilege to serve on the board of Merimnao for almost 4 years.” Gil’s specific interest and involvement are working with men and couples. His passion and desires are to see men grow in their relationship with Christ by experiencing the liberty and freedom the gospel of Jesus Christ has to offer. Gil has also been involved in facilitating couples intimacy group, where he sees marriages mature and develop into what we believe God has designed marriage to be.


Andrea Rogers is grateful to serve on the board of Merimnao. Merimnao Healing Ministries has been very instrumental in her own life and healing journey, after discovering infidelity and betrayal in her marriage. Andrea is a member and facilitator of Parakaleo, a support group for wives recovering from betrayal.

Andrea is married to Damon and they have four beautiful children. The Rogers have lived in the Katy area for over 15 years and are a proud homeschooling family. The Rogers are members of Sanctuary, a global community serving the body of Christ.

Andrea is also the Executive Director and founder of Modesty Rocks, a nonprofit organization committed to instilling healthy esteem in girls ages 8-14 and building strong mother/daughter relationships.


Kathy Trout has been the Secretary of the Board of Merimnao since its inception. She has worked with breast cancer patients at her church to encourage them and to assist in finding needed services and has also been a volunteer with CanCare since 2008. She has been an active member of The Fellowship since 2006.Kathy has lived with her husband, Dave, in the Houston area for 38 years. They have two children and three grandchildren.

She has a BA in Family Life Education.

JACLYN TOWNSEND, Executive Director & Board Member

Jaclyn was named the Executive Director of Merimnao Healing Ministries in July 2017 where she previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors for two years. Jaclyn is grateful for the opportunity to serve the very community that helped her.

Jaclyn has spent most her career developing and managing corporate marketing and communication initiatives for diverse multi-national companies. Because of her own journey through recovery, Jaclyn is passionate about helping others work through their brokenness and works with several other recovery organizations in and around the greater Houston area.

Jaclyn has a B.S in Marketing from the University of Houston and lives in Fort Bend County, where she grew up, with her husband and two sons.
