Effective August 9, 2010 Becky Hanshaw has joined our leadership group within the ministry of Merimnao. Becky is a Licensed Professional Counselor working for an insurance company, and will be volunteering for Merimnao in the area of one-to-one ministry.
One-to-one ministry is where designated people within Merimnao, in this case Becky, will make themselves available, within certain limits, for individual meetings to discuss a person’s concerns or challenges.
Becky will be serving us as a resource for women who are experiencing abuse, or have experienced it in the past. She has experience helping individuals in all the common areas of abuse – physical, emotional, verbal and spiritual. Becky will meet with individuals at least one time to offer information, encouragement, and resources, and refer individuals on to an appropriate counselor, women’s shelter, or other community program.
Becky will also serve as the Merimnao liaison between the abuse center of Katy Christian Ministries and any other local relevant women’s abuse centers. (See “contacts” for more information on how to reach Becky)
Our newest group, the “Divorce Support Group” began meeting on August 4th, 2010.
