Mission of the Ministry
Merimnao has developed two statements of purpose; more commonly called “Mission Statements”.
The Basic Mission Statement
- To create and maintain an environment where lay members of the church can provide “soul care” for others.
The Primary Mission Statement
- Merimnao is a ministry seeking to fulfill the great commission of Christ through the application of His word in the caring for individuals who are experiencing difficulty in life. It is primarily a ministry of restoration, renewal and reconciliation for people seeking to overcome their troubles, anxieties, fears and burdens.
Some Explanation
The core work of the ministry leadership team is to develop and maintain a place where individuals who are called to care for others can do their ministering activities. The Merimnao leadership is therefore focused on providing the environment and the resources needed to provide a place for hurting people to come for healing.
While some of the “in the trenches” ministering work will be carried out by Merimnao leaders, most of it will not. The major focus of the leadership will be to provide physical locations, in depth training, support and biblical guidance to the ministry workers. In effect the leadership will be serving and meeting the ministry needs of the volunteers working with broken-hearted people.
Accountability
The volunteers who are working with the broken-hearted are accountable for their activities to the leadership of Merimnao.
The leadership of the ministry of Merimnao is responsible to the leadership of the Fellowship at Cinco Ranch, and direct reports to them through the Pastor of Discipleship.
